Hi, I’m Valerie Kattz. I was raised by wild kittens in the backwoods of Louisiana. After years of being strung out on catnip I discovered what would eventually save me – RADIO!

I moved to California and started my radio career in 1992. I  worked at radio stations in Palm Springs and Los Angeles before moving back to the South in 2015.

I love puppies, naps, yellow flowers and my favorite color is glitter. Let’s be friends!

Valerie began her radio career in Southern California in 1992. She hosted the midday show, voiced commercials and worked in the News Department. In 1993 Valerie moved to Palm Springs to work for RR Broadcasting. She has worked on air for over 25 years. In 2014, Valerie moved to Los Angeles to work with the legendary stations 95.5 KLOS and 790 KABC. After her father passed in 2015, Valerie decided to move back to the South so she could be closer to family. After settling in on the Gulf Coast she began On-Air, Mon-Fri, noon - 3pm on 107.1 The Monkey. Following her show, she co-hosts 1071 The Monkey's afternoon show from 3pm - 7pm with James Steele. Valerie is a certified R.M.P. (Radio Marketing Professional) who also writes commercial copy, radio jingles and has voiced over 3,000 radio and TV commercials and she is an MC for many local events and concerts. Valerie won the "2013 Best Radio Personality" award in the CV Weekly Annual Reader's Poll for her mid-day radio show on MIX 100.5 in Palm Springs, CA and for several years she was voted in the Top 5 Best Radio Personalities in the Desert Sun's "Best of the Valley" annual polls. Valerie’s television experience includes co-hosting the "Loving All Animals Pet of the Week" segment on CBS LOCAL TV 2 from March 2013 until her move to Los Angeles in March 2014. The segment helped find homes for many animals in need. She was also host of the popular Palm Springs TV show, “The Hot 5 Video Countdown” for 2 years and she had a regular long running segment on Patty Daly Caruso’s TV show “Valley Views.” Valerie’s segment was called “The Star of the Week” and featured local people who contributed in a positive way to the community, usually through community service. In 2013, Valerie had a co-staring role in the independent film, "Sushi Anyone?" You can currently catch Valerie showcasing adoptable pets on the WLOX-TV 13 "Pet of the Week" segment. Valerie is an animal lover who has 3 dog daughters including an 8 year old, blind Boston Terrier named Bella and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix named Pinky that she adopted from NKLA and a 1 year old Boston Terrier, named Willow, who she adopted from the Humane Society of South Mississippi. Being an animal lover lead Valerie to host her own weekly radio talk show “Pet Chat." She was also a contributing writer for a local online Pet Column.
